One of the age old questions for those of us in the Bowman world is, “how long after release should I wait to buy singles?”. Unfortunately, it’s hard to answer that question with a ton of confidence. I know that Dahl over at ProspectPulse has charted sales from multiple Bowman releases and found that we should ideally wait close to three months after a product drops if we are trying to get the rock bottom price on singles. That is easier said for Bowman Chrome and Bowman Draft since there are no games being played when these cards hit eBay. That allows us to be more patient because there is little in the way of news that can drive up the hype for players while they’re off the field.

Bowman flagship however is a different animal. Sure, we all want to wait until the prices hit their bottom but since we are in the heart of the season it’s impossible to predict which players are going to get hot and cold when. You may think that you’re going to wait until a player’s autograph price goes down another $10 but then he could have a 5-HR week and you may never see those prices again. As of today we are four weeks to the day from the release of 2026 Bowman so I thought it would be a good time to run through the prices of every player with a 1st autograph on that checklist and compare them to the expected values in my Bowman Prospect Rankings. There are of course always hype factors that we can’t account for that cause a player’s price to be higher than we expect, but since my goal is to find players that are undervalued in the market we can see whose prices have already dipped below the price that my formula would say to buy at. What I found is that there are already eight hitters and four pitchers whose prices have come down enough that I think we can feel comfortable buying them now.
