Bowman Prospect Rankings - Top 200 Hitters

Since I’ll be at the National all day tomorrow and I’m sure there are a few of you going who’d like some names to buy, I’ve moved up our usual Friday rankings update to today. As always there are some big movers over the past two weeks which I’ll highlight along with updated lists of players who present the best buying opportunities right now, both in terms of dollars and percentage. Remember that as the minor league season winds down it’s never a bad idea to take your profits and hold that cash until the offseason to try and buy the dips for next year. My target prices are based on what I call a ‘Bowman market cap’ meaning how many dollars are being spent on these players, and in a perfect world the number of players above a 3.0 buy and number below a 3.0 should be about the same. On this week’s update I had to remove 5% from the target prices to make it even which tells me that we may be at the top of the Bowman bell curve and prices as a whole could slowly start to come down in August. Still there is plenty of baseball to be played and plenty of players worth buying, just keep that in mind over the course of the next month or two.

5.0 = Strongest Buy (price should be at least 100% higher)

4.5 - 4.9 = Strong Buy

4.0 - 4.4 = Buy

3.5 - 3.9 = Lean towards buying

3.1 - 3.4 = Slightly undervalued

3.0 = Market is spot on

2.5 - 2.9 = Slightly overvalued

2.1 - 2.4 = Don’t see much value

2.0 = Would not buy
