It’s Friday which means it’s time for updated hobby rankings. Last week it was our top 200 hitters, today it’s our top 100 pitchers. There has always been a point deduction for being injured mostly because it’s hard for your cards to go up while you’re not on the field and with that I don’t typically add players on the IL to the list of buys. However, buying players at the bottom while they’re injured, especially if it’s not thought to be a long-term injury, and holding them until they return is a fairly easy path to future gains. For that reason injured players will now be eligible to be labeled as buys. Since their injury is factored in already and they’ve likely dropped 10+ spots from where they should be, them still being cheaper than the target price there is a good sign that we can stack some of their cards because once they do come back to the mound their ranking will immediately move up. Never a bad idea to beat everybody else to it.
