Unless I missed some names while scanning the transaction logs there were 31 non-debuted prospects in total who were moved at the MLB tradeline that have a 1st Bowman Autograph. What most people who are holding those cards are wondering now is, ‘is this good or bad for my collection?’. While I don’t think there’s a definitive answer because every case will be player specific and depend on how the prospects continue to develop, I did want to put together my initial reactions for how I see it affecting each of their card markets. It’s easy enough to look at a player going from a popular franchise to an unpopular one and saying it’s bad, but what about where they rank within their new franchise? How it’s changed the ETA for their MLB debut? One of the other things that I think is important is what tier of prospect they are. Not all moves are equal, two prospects could be traded from the same to the same team but one of them being a $50 base autograph player and the other being a $5 base autograph player may change how they’re received by the new group of fans. Here is my opinion on what these moves mean for all 31 prospects when viewed through a hobby lens.
